How are you handling stress?

Personal Growth

Stress is a normal response to whatever is happening around us — and it’s not all bad.

Healthy stress is something short-lived, like running or lifting weights, but when it is prolonged, stress becomes unhealthy and takes a toll on our mental and physical state.

Events like COVID-19, the death of a family member, or upcoming tax deadlines may bring on unhealthy stress responses, and how you decide to cope with that stress makes all the difference.

Are you stressed?

Do a self-evaluation on the following symptoms:

  • Anxiousness
  • Problems with sleeping
  • Fatigue
  • Sad or depressed feelings
  • Lack of focus
  • Upset stomach

If you’re experiencing any of these regularly, don’t ignore what your body is saying. Instead, positively cope with stress, with any of the following:

  • Go for a walk
  • Talk to a family member or friend about how you’re feeling
  • Drink water
  • Eat a healthy and balanced diet
  • Read
  • Meditate
  • Get 7-9 hours of sleep
  • Journal
  • And most importantly, be honest with yourself about how you’re feeling

Sometimes we need to go through adversity to get to the other side, which is full of happiness and success. You can do this! Your friends at TogetherCPA are here for you. After all, that’s what this community is for!
